4 methods of covering grey hair
There are 4 ways of dealing with grey hair professionally
Classic chemical coverage
This method implies full coverage of grey with high density chemical colour, where the natural hair colour is also permanently altered. The frequency of recolouring 3-4 weeks.
Grey camouflage
This method implied not very dense chemical coverage or greys (which gradually washes out) with the natural hair colour remaining unaltered. No commitment to come back for a touch up as there is no visible regrowth, ideal for men.
Grey blending
Implies creating the same amount of super fine highlights to imitate the pattern of greys, this helps to mask the greys so when the hair regrow the greys blend in with highlights and the roots do not look so obviously different. This method is possible when the amount of greys is not more than 30-40%
Using herbs to cover greys.
Besides it being safe for health and great for the condition of the hair It combines the properties of method 1 and 2. Here the maintenance will depend on the density of the coverage and the choice of colour. If you want to have black or dark brown the regrowth will be visible in 3-4 weeks.
However when we go for blond, beige or copper shades the maintenance will be required in 2-3 months time depending on the % of greys. This is because herbs work on the cuticle of the hair and the natural hair colour hair is not massively altered while the greys gets fully covered. At regrowth the natural pattern of salt and pepper remains the same. The natural hair regrow as natural and newly grown greys blend into the light shade with which the hair had been dyed. If the distribution of grey is not even method 3 can be combined with herbal hair colouring and can be highlighted before or after the herbal dye.
