Pricing of the herbal hair colour appoinment  03.02.2019 18:24

It is a common knowledge that the herbal colour takes more time compared to regular professional hairdressing dye appointment.

It is true when a client applies herbal mix at home.

However understanding what the conditions bring the PH of the hair up and what conditions bring it down can really speed up the process of herbal hair dye penetrating into the hair.

On the average herbal processing time varies between 20-40 minutes with heat.

Herbal application appointments can be of various types:

1. In some cases the client comes in for the application only where the herb is applied on the roots or overall and and the clients head is protected with the cling film and after that the client chooses to go home and wash it off in their own time.

2. Another type is what I call a single application and blow dry appointment. Here the herbal mix is applied for 20-40 min (and sometimes an hour) depending on the porousness of the hair then it is washed and styled. On the average this type of appointment lasts for 1,5 hours.

3. The third type of appointment includes application, processing time, secondary herbal glossing, wash and style. Glossing is a short application of another layer of herbs to adjust the shade, it is performed in the sink and lasts 5-15 minutes. These types of appointments last 1,5-2 hours.

4. And finally the last type is a double application, where we do 2 consecutive herbal  applications with full processing time. These applications are done when a client wants to achieve black or very dark brown results or when the greys are super resistant. The time of the appointment is 2-3 hours which really depends on the porousness of the hair and how many cuticle layers the hair has.

With majority of european (caucasian) hair the herbal hair dye appointment will not take very much longer than a traditional colour appointment.

In many cases 1 hour will be enough to apply the herbs, process, wash and rough dry.

At this point in time 2.09.2023 we charger £60 and hour plus the cost of the materials used and a single application appointment + styling would cost around £90. Majority of all herbal appointments will cost £90-160 and if the client has thick, curly hair and wants a smoothing blow dry that is calculated on top of hair dye price.
